"Black Betty" - 170cc inline 6 - 2spd auto - all original. Comes with an extra engine (260cc) with tranny. Has $1,000 in recent work including new tires, rear brakes and cylinders. Fairly recent suspension work.
Legend has it this car purchased for a bratty Albertan kid by his father for his 16th birthday. The kid was expecting a Volkswagen instead of a Mercury and drove this car in to the farmer's fence. His father then parked the car in their barn for many years where the horses would nibble on the paint. Many character marks in her.
This car is a 4 door, all original. Some rust to the right front fender and rear. Was quoted $700 - $1000 to cut out the rust and replace with metal. Sand the other areas and paint her and the car is worth $7000 - $8000.
All the chrome is there and in good shape. Interior is in okay shape - some rips to drivers seat. Frame is excellent.
This car gets thumbs up everywhere she goes. Reason for sale is we are moving out of the country. She's a beaut. Low-ballers will be ignored.
